I am proud to announce the availability of Astaro Command Center 3.0. ACC is our central management application that you use to see and work with all Astaro products through a single GUI. Simplify your management of Astaro Installations by sharing objects, centrally configuring security policies, and pushing out rules to one or many devices. Whether you have two installations or hundreds, ACC gives you the ability to manage and work with your sites. Best of all, this exciting new version remains completely free -no gimmicks, no asterisks, no hidden conditions. Enjoy!
Today we have released ASG 8.202 to increase performance in many areas, especially for the Web Filtering engine. This release addresses the majority of the issues reported by users of 8.200/8.201, and greatly enhances the stability of your Astaro Security Gateway V8.2 installation.
Today we have released ASG 8.201 and 8.200 to our installations via the Astaro Up2Date system. 8.201 solidifies the 8.2 release and should be applied along with 8.200. We took the opportunity to further increase the Web Filtering throughput, address a few bugs, and polish the 8.200 release. You will find both these packages are ready to install at this time. Read on for further details about 8.201. Enjoy ASG 8.2!
Announced at CeBit earlier this year, Astaro Security Gateway V8.200 is now available. ASG 8.2 adds Application Control (aka. Layer-7 or "Next-Generation" Firewall) and Network Visiblity so that you see everything happening in your network and can make educated, reactive decisions about how your connection is used.
There is also an Interactive Web Reporting Engine that lets you craft and mold reports; you can navigate through data until you have the answer you need, no more tirelessly looking through pre-arranged reports hoping you stumble across the right one! 3G/UMTS USB support, Search Engine "Safe Search" enforcement, weights for Internet Connection balancing, and a User agent for user-based security configuration have all been introduced as well, to name just a few. WebAdmin sees usability improvements, and there is a technical preview of our upcoming Log Management product. Taking advantage of new technology and methods, we have vastly improved throughput performance of ASG, increasing it by up to four times in some areas, with a focus on Intrusion Protection and Firewall throughput. Greetings! Today we have published a maintenance release for Astaro Security Gateway V7 users. No major changes or new features have been introduced.
Up2Date Version 8.103 has been released for Astaro Security Gateway appliances. The main reason for this release is to add the Common Criteria (EAL4+) Certified architecture to ASG. (This represents the culmination of many months of focused development and procedural work.) We also take this opportunity to address some issues with the HTTP/S Proxy (Web Filter). Read on for more details.
A new revision of the ASG 110/120 has left our production facilities. The ASG 110/120 rev.4 features an Intel processor which produces 1.8 Gbps of firewall throughput.
I’m happy to announce our new Log Management service which will be available at the end of June with the ASG V8.200 update. You may like to bridge the gap and test the ASG Beta version which also includes Log Management – for free, of course!
The main reason for this release is to make our "One-Touch Update to V8 for Appliances" available to all valid remaining ASG installations; notably those with Wireless Security enabled via Full Guard licensing and Stand-Alone licenses. Cluster and HA environments using ASG appliances can also now use this feature. In addition, we will use the opportunity to issue a few fixes.
Following months of planning and development, today I am happy to announce we have started a public Beta of our upcoming 8.200 release of Astaro Security Gateway. This is shaping up to be one of our biggest releases ever. You will find major new features like Application Visibility and Control to give you absolute dominion over your Internet connection, new Web Security reporting with custom reactive filters and email subscription lists for distribution, and a user authentication client which adds detailed per-user reporting and control. You are invited to test out this version and participate in our dedicated 8.200 Beta Forums to share your feedback, impressions, and report any bugs. Several members of our various teams will closely interact with the participants of this forum to ensure the best possible polish and quality of 8.200 for the GA release at the end of June.
We also reward our testers! Several of the top contributers and testers will receive great Astaro swag for their efforts! You can win access points, Astaro RED's, and your own ASG appliance for personal home use. For all the details of the 8.200 Beta program, and information on the release itself, read on!
