Dan Goodwin recently reported that a new Internet Explorer exploit has been released into the wild. The exploit, known as CVE-2010-0249, attacks a known vulnerability in Internet Explorer and was most notably used to compromise Google. Luckily, networks with an Astaro Security Gateway are protected against this threat.

Up2Date V7.502 has been made available to solidify your Astaro installation. It is currently being distributed via our Up2Date system, and contains some new fixes and improvements. Continue reading for all the details. This release offers an updated version of the SSL VPN client, and we have also changed the HTTP proxy option for handling encrypted zip files to be consistent with other areas of WebAdmin. The checkbox option now says "Block unscannable content" (as it did in versions before 7.501), instead of "Pass unscannable content".

Completing the release of the Astaro Command Center 2.1, today we have released the GA/Final version. It is available as an Up2Date for existing installations, a full set of ISO images for installing on your own hardware or ACC appliances, and we have Virtual images as for VMware ESX/i and VMware Player.

With the official GA Version 2.1 of the Astaro Command Center, we will be adjusting the licensing process for the product. Astaro Command Center will remain a free product, however users will now be able generate and use a personalized key for their ACC installation.

Astaro has today made available the soft-release of the next Astaro Command Center (ACC) version - our tool for centrally managing Astaro devices. Whether you have two or two-hundred+ installations, ACC gives you a central point for monitoring, configuring, and reporting.

Following our successful launch of 7.500, there is now Up2Date 7.501 released which addresses a few bugs and adds some backend adjustments for compatibility with the new Astaro Command Center 2.1, which is currently in open Beta testing. You can read on for the specifics of this minor Up2Date.

A small issue is present in the 7.500 release which can cause some installations which are using active/passive HA to behave like an active/active cluster. Customers with active/passive HA configurations shouldn't update until 7.501 is released next week.

Completing our launch process of Version 7.5, we have released the V7.500 Up2Date to our existing installation base. Users will now be able to update to V7.5 from their existing installations.

Continuing with our V7.5 release schedule, we have released the ISO images of V7.5 for all Astaro Gateway products. Next week on October 5th, we will distribute V7.5 as an Up2Date to all installations via our Content Distribution Network.

We are proud to announce that the General Availability (GA) of 7.500 has been soft-released. 7.500 includes great new features and functions, many of which were requested by our customers. To name just a few, there is a new Intrusion Protection Engine, Real-Time Bandwidth Monitoring, a transparent HTTP proxy mode with captive authentication portal, and the ability to import and export various lists.
