Continuing with our V7.5 release schedule, we have released the ISO images of V7.5 for all Astaro Gateway products. Next week on October 5th, we will distribute V7.5 as an Up2Date to all installations via our Content Distribution Network.
We are proud to announce that the General Availability (GA) of 7.500 has been soft-released. 7.500 includes great new features and functions, many of which were requested by our customers. To name just a few, there is a new Intrusion Protection Engine, Real-Time Bandwidth Monitoring, a transparent HTTP proxy mode with captive authentication portal, and the ability to import and export various lists.
We have released 7.490 for our Beta testers. This can be considered the 7.500 Release Candidate which will be finalized as the GA in the future. As we move closer to our GA Version, we've taken the time to apply more fixes to the release and prepare it for general use.
As announced last year, on Oct 1st, 2009,Version 6 of Astaro Security Gateway will be end-of-life. At this time, no further Up2Date packages for firmware or patterns will be distributed. For the few remaining customers that are still using Version 6, we have released Up2Date Version 6.315 which fixes a recently announced vulnerability in BIND, and also make some changes to streamline the Upgrade options for you. Hello! For those who are participating in our 7.500 Beta, we have just released the fourth iteration of the release, which is numbered 7.480. We will now being merging the code and start making it final, and you can expect a Release Candidate probably next week, barring any unexpected developments. From there, 7.500 will be made Generally Available shortly thereafter.
Greetings, In order to apply some essential security patches, we are releasing Up2Date 7.405 now. This Up2Date is purely a security update, with no other changes.
Our Beta community will be excited to hear that we have just made available the third package in our 7.500 release testing. This Up2Date draws heavily on the feedback from our Beta Testing Forum. We've made improvements to features, cleaned up a lot of areas to make them more production-ready, and advanced the quality and speed of of the entire release.
Astaro has made available Up2Date 7.404 via our global content distribution system. Your Astaro Gateway Products should shortly be downloading and preparing it for install. Recently the Slowloris Denial of Service attack has jumped in popularity. This attack is similar to SYN flood, but uses HTTP instead, basically consuming sockets on the Web Server vs. trying to saturate all the bandwidth. This is an interesting attack, particularly because it does not require a lot of bandwidth by the attacker.

I am pleased to announce that the Beta for the next big release of Astaro Gateways (7.500) is now available. While this release will be finalized for all versions of AxG, the Beta phase is only for the Astaro Security Gateway. This release includes exiting new things that were posted, submitted, and/or reviewed by you, our partners and end users via our new feature request portal at feature.astaro.com.

Hello! Astaro has released Up2Date 7.402, which is a stability release. This update adds support for newer Intel ethernet driver versions, adds to the amount of multipath rules that can be created, and optimizes some database tasks further. In addition, this release fixes some bugs and increases ACC integration/performance.
With the recent attention in the media to the Conficker Worm, many customers have general questions regarding this threat.
