Museum of Science to Use Network Security Products and Services from Astaro
Astaro’s shared commitment to science and technology education leads to donation of solutions and services.
Astaro, (www.astaro.com) a Sophos company and leading Unified Threat Management provider, today announced that the company has donated Astaro Security Gateway appliances, web and network subscriptions, technical support hours and seats of the Astaro Mail Archiving service to the Museum of Science. The Museum of Science accepted the donation because they felt the solutions and services would benefit the non-profit organization by increasing the organization’s security and solving their email archiving challenges.
The Museum of Science will now use Astaro’s Security Gateway products for web and network security at the Boston facility. These subscriptions offer content filtering, spyware/virus protection, bandwidth control and firewall capabilities. Additionally, the Museum will deploy the Astaro Mail Archiving service on all email accounts, granting them unlimited email storage and the ability to easily access archived mail.
Astaro, Sophos Network Security chose to donate the hardware, software and email archiving service to the Museum of Science because of the organization’s commitment to advancing technology and science through education, a value Astaro shares.
“Promoting an interest in science and technology is an important part of educating today’s youth,” said Bob Darabant, vice president, Astaro Americas. “The Museum of Science is committed to advancing science and technology education and as such Astaro, wishes to aid the Museum in this mission. I believe donating our solutions and services will help the Museum operate more securely and efficiently, making them better equipped to reach their goal.”
Astaro Sophos Network Security is the local sponsor of the Museum of Science’s Dinosaurs: Ancient Fossils, New Discoveries exhibit which will run from June 4th – August 21st, 2011 in Boston.
