Astaro Corporation Positioned in the “Visionaries” Quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Network Firewalls

Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute.

3/31/2010

Reading, UK - 31st March 2010 – Astaro Corporation (http://www.astaro.com), a leading Unified Threat Management provider, today announced that Astaro has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Visionaries” quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Network Firewalls.”(1)

According to the Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Network Firewalls report, “The enterprise network firewall market represented by this Magic Quadrant is composed primarily of purpose-built appliances for securing corporate networks. Products must be able to support single enterprise firewall deployments and large deployments, including branch offices. These products are accompanied by highly scalable management and reporting consoles/products.”

“We view the placement of Astaro in the “visionaries” quadrant by Gartner as a confirmation of our efforts to satisfy the network security needs of organisations of all sizes,” said Jan Hichert, Astaro CEO. “We believe the security challenges faced by enterprises are evolving rapidly, creating a greater need for multifunction firewalls in these environments. As enterprises grow and add new offices at remote locations, the capabilities available in a multifunction firewall will become even more valuable to meeting these organisations’ ever changing needs.”

The Astaro Security Gateway integrates Network, Web and Mail Security through an intuitive GUI, allowing for easy management. Astaro is currently developing version 8 of the Astaro Security Gateway, which will be available in the second half of 2010. The new version will include support for IPv6, a reverse proxy – Web Application Firewall, admin change tracking and an updated interface. Many of the new features found in version 8 were suggested on the Astaro Feature Request Site, a site that was developed by Astaro product management to receive feedback on current and future offerings from Astaro’s partner community and customers.
