Remove the need to remember complex site passwords and login information. Using encrypted sessions, you can dive directly into a device’s WebAdmin from within the Astaro Command Center without needing to re-authenticate. This convenience also removes the need to distribute and store crucial security passwords over insecure methods which might compromise your security operations. By being able to focus on a single resource in the Astaro Command Center, you can focus extra protection on this crucial point instead of worrying about each site how to manage the accesses on each security device in your portfolio.
Working with many security locations in a business is always challenging. The problems begin with basic tasks like logging into a specific site. The administrator needs to know what password to use and what address to login to. These types of operations cause extra management time and lead to shortcuts being made, such as a single password being used for all locations or sensitive data being left in view of unwanted eyes on sticky notes or in unprotected documents. Connecting devices to ACC is simple; just login to an Astaro product, point it at the Astaro Command Center, then authorize it as being allowed from within the Astaro Command Center itself. Using encrypted communications, the Astaro Command Center can then talk to the connected installation in a secure manner.
Administrators often work in teams and the Astaro Command Center lets you share responsibilities and access with multiple administrators. Extending this ability, ACC also supports multiple, separate companies to make use of the same ACC device, a perfect situation for the partner or MSP which wants to offer management services. Using our role-based permissions system combined with the dual-portals of ACC, the master administrator or owner of the ACC appliance can specify which users are allowed to access the command center, and what responsibilities and permissions they have to view and work with which connected devices.
This hierarchical system allows for complex rights to be crafted without confusion; for example a partner who is responsible for 2 separate companies can setup two administrators (one for each company) and give them control over their devices, as well as any sub-employees they have which should be able to sub-manage individual devices, run reports, or simply get hardware status information.
